Rocky -(leffa)maratoni

Tänään on Tapaninpäivä, joka on englanniksi Boxing Day. Nimitys viitannee laatikoihin, mutta boxing tarkoittaa myös nyrkkeilyä, ja siitä kehitin viime vuonna idean nykyiseen traditiooni katsoa eräs leffasaaga leffa päivässä -tyyppisenä maratonina. Suurin elokuvasankarini on nyrkkeilijä Rocky Balboa. Leffasarjan viimeisen osan katson 31. päivä, joka sattuu olemaan Sylvesterin nimipäivä. Tiedättehän te näyttelijän Sylvester Stallone, eikö? Jos et tiedä, kenestä puhutaan, suorastaan vaadin sinua katsomaan nämä elokuvat.

It's Boxing Day and last year I started a tradition to watch one part of saga each day starting from today. I'm talking about the film saga with my biggest film hero ever, Rocky Balboa. The marathon would start with first Rocky movie on Boxing Day and conclude on 31st to the last film of the saga. That day happens to be the name day of Sylvester in Finland. You all do know Sylvester Stallone, right? If you don't, you MUST watch these movies.

Miksi?!

Rocky Balboa on  tuhansien ihmisten mielestä inspiroiva ja samaistuttava hahmo. Elokuvien myötä hahmoon kiintyy todella paljon, koska niissä seurataan hänen kasvuaan ihmisenä, miehenä, aviomiehenä, isänä. Rocky -elokuvissa on hyvät tarinat ja ne antavat ja opettavat katsojalle paljon. Joka kerta, kun olen epäillyt itseäni ja ollut mieli maassa, Rocky on auttanut minua muistamaan, että sinnikkyys palkitaan ja että elämässä on paljon, mistä olla onnellinen.

"Why should I watch the Rocky movies?!" Thousands of people in the world find Rocky Balboa a very inspiring character that you can relate to. You easily become attached to Rocky since there are many movies and you get to see him grow up as a person, as a man, as a husband, as a father. Rocky movies have great storylines, and they give and teach a lot to their viewer. Every time I have under estimated myself and felt bad Rocky has reminded me that staying tough will help me win and there's so much in life to be happy about.

Hyvää itsenäisyyspäivää! It's Finland's Independence Day today.

1st Day

Hey!
It's the first day of December! Time to open my advent calendars.^^

It was also my first day of work in a long long long LONG time. No, I don't really have a job, and no, I still didn't do work of my own field, but instead I did something like catering, for my godmother, and it was just a training to see whether she'll accept me in the future to help around. And I did well. Yay!

It has already been the first day of snowing, too. Not actually, since it snowed in October already, but it melted away so soon. This time it's the real winter snow! It's so wonderful to have a white Christmas!

This is just a quick post, sorry. I'm trying to get the hang of this again.. Take care y'all!

We we we weekend

Wow, what a wonderful weekend behind. I saw one, two, three, four... seven friends (with their guys, and some of them I'd call my friends too but didn't include them this time, sorry!) in two places.

It was altogether a nostalgic trip and also a touch to my new loves. I mean...

You know how much I love kpop, don't you? Finally I got to dance to Gangnam Style in a bar with friends. Awesomest time! I adore kpop having these totally addicting choreographies. It's definitely part of the charm!



I also heard Wonder Girls' DJ Is Mine in a kebab pizzeria.^^



"He loves the way I do it all night!" This girl never stops dancing. That is what it means.. right?!

 That's what I mean with getting touch with new loves. And what was nostalgic, well, first of all to see all friends, and while driving there was an old cassette playing in the car radio. Oh my gosh, car cassette player is already nostalgic! And the songs that played... sooooo nostalgic! I could faint! Here's a couple..




Boys, could those London Boys also dance like the best kpoppers. Rest in peace, fellas, you were gone too soon.

Back to me! I'm super glad too because finally I believe I'm actually gonna graduate this year, lol.. I have all the points and sh*t. I've nothing left to do! I've submitted my final version of thesis and I've written the final exam. It was lovely to see my kyaaaa kawai teacher, too! lol. I'm such a teenagre, sorry!

Comeback

Big Bangin comebackista kirjoitinkin jo. Blue oli haikea ja koskettava, Bad Boy oli hiphop ja siinä oli asennetta, ja - no, Fantastic Baby sai minut ihan sekaisin. BOOM SHAKA LAKA!~

I wrote about Big Bang's comeback already. "Blue" was melancholic and touching, "Bad Boy" was hip hop and filled with attitude, and - well, "Fantastic Baby" made me lose my mind. BOOM SHAKA LAKA!~

B1A4 on minulle yksi kaikkein rakkaimmista korealaisista yhtyeistä ♥ Rakastan niitä poikia! Aiheutin kpop -miitissä hilpeyttä kertomalla ajatuksestani, kuinka hienoa olisi asua B1A4:n kanssa. Miettikää nyt! Pojat laulaisivat, tanssisivat, sekoilisivat, nukkuisivat.. Ne, jotka ovat nähneet O.K. - ja Beautiful Target -videot, tietävät näiden poikien söpöyden. Tarkoitan oikeasti sellaista toiminnallista söpöyttä. Ei kukaan ymmärrä, mitä selitän >.< Tiedättekö sen jutun, kun joku tekee jotain söpöä? Niin, se juttu!

For me, B1A4 is one of the most loved Korean groups ♥ I love those boys! I made people laugh in a kpop meet-up, when I said I'd like to live with B1A4. Just think about it! They would sing, dance, act goofy, sleep.. Those who have seen O.K. and Beautiful Target videos know how cute these guys are. And, I really mean that kind of active cuteness. Nobody knows what I'm saying >.< Do you know that thing when somebody does something cute? Yeah, that thing!

Harmikseni jouduin kuitenkin toteamaan, että sitä söpöyttä oli hyvin vähän Baby I’m Sorry -laulussa ja -videossa. Tämä on varmaan taas sitä henkistä kasvua. Voi, kun ne lapset kasvavat niin nopeasti. Pidin näistä asuista:

But, I had to realize that there wasn't so much of that cuteness in Baby I'm Sorry song or video. It must be the so called mentally growing. Oh, kids grow up so fast. I liked these outfits:

Baby I’m Sorry on hyvä kappale, mutta siinä on ihan liikaa autotunea, eikä sitä tee mieli kuunnella jatkuvasti kuten suosikkilauluja. Albumin muut kappaleet ovat mielestäni parempia. Suosikkini on This Time Is Over. Jäin vain kaipaamaan niitä pirteitä lauluja.

Baby I'm Sorry is a good song, but there's just too much autotune in it, and I don't feel like listening to it all the time like I feel with my favorite songs. There are better songs on the album. My favorite is This Time Is Over. I just miss the happy songs.

Kuulostaa ihan siltä, että se olisi sävelletty nyrkkeilyotteluun. Tai ehkä se assosiaatio tuli sittenkin Keyn shortseista. Muuten kappale, varsinkin kertosäe, kuulostaa erittäin tyypilliseltä SHINeelta mielestäni. Musiikkivideo on mielestäni mielenkiintoinen. Lopussa meni ensimmäisellä katsomiskerralla ihan kylmänväreet käsivarsia pitkin. Poikien tyylistä en paljon pidä. Jonghyun näyttää parhaalta. Tästä äiti on epäilemättä samaa mieltä.

It sounds like the song was composed for a boxing night. Or maybe I got the assosiation from Key's shorts. Otherwise the song and especially the chorus sounds like a very typical SHINee to me. I think the music video is interesting. At the end I got chills through my arms. I'm not so fond of boys' style here. Jonghyun looks the best. I'm sure my mom will agree.

Loppuun avaan seuraavan kerran aihetta. Aion kirjoittaa vanhemmasta koreapopista, ja aiheeseen on hyvä aasiansilta. Shinhwa debytoi vuonna 1998, ja tekee tänä vuonna comebackin. Wow!

Next time I'll write about older kpop, and there's a link between this and today's theme. Shinhwa debuted in 1998 and this year they have a comeback. Wow!
