Film feels: Disney's Cinderella - Tuhkimon tarina

Olin odottanut Tuhkimon tarinan näkemistä paljon. En nyt sanoisi olevani kovin vaikuttunut. Disneyn animoitu Tuhkimo oli aina ollut mielestäni niitä hitaimpia Disney-elokuvia, jossa oli kovin vähän sisältöä, ja siinä oli silti vahvempia kohtauksia kuin tässä näytellyssä versiossa - ja tästä puuttuivat ne taianomaiset laulut. Valssi tosin oli maaginen.♡

I had been looking forward to seeing Cinderella so much. But, I wouldn't really say I was impressed. I had always thought Disney's animated Cinderella was one of the slowest Disney movies without much content, but it still had stronger scenes than this live-action version - and this one lacked the magical songs. The waltz was magical though.♡

I wish the movie had been more faithful to the animated version, because honestly, the animation had some great moments! It would really be one of my favorites if there were less scenes with mice. They did fix that in the 2015 version, but they fixed too many things. The animated version of transforming stuff was way better. Actually, I think today's technology would give filmmakers more room for magic than what was seen in this piece. The transformation from mice to horses looks pretty cute, and I did love the dress transformation. Oh, the dress! I did love it - and the shoes! They were amazing.

What I will remember from this movie is how the Prince and Cinderella looked at each other - the actors were perfect in their roles - and the song with lavender, as well as the words "Have courage and be kind." This movie did have its moments. I did cry in many scenes, but I'd say it was in obvious scenes. I mean, if a movie can make you cry with not so obvious reasons, then it's a really well made film.

What I most loved about this movie were the characters. Disney finally gave Cinderella and Prince Charming real characters with personalities! The prince even has an actual name now! That was actually hilarious when he was introduced in the movie. I was so surprised. I still can't stop smiling about the name choice. It's so not obvious. The characters were well better written than the actual screenplay. They had their stories and they had their dreams.

If you haven't seen it yet, you should, if you love romantic stories and fairy tales. And if you don't like fairy tales - you should try how you feel about this one. Because despite of some little magical help from the Fairy Godmother, this movie was actually very realistic - almost too realistic for my taste, since I'm someone who does love fairy tales!

I've been ill all weekend, but I've been meeting friends and they've been making me smile despite lack of energy. I've enjoyed watching martial arts movies..

I love watching fighting movies because to me it all represents fighting in life, fighting for what you believe in and fighting for those you love.
That is the reason I appreciate martial arts so much. The one who masters the skill of fighting must also master the skill of living, that's how I feel about it..

Asian flavors

Hey yo guys! ~

Shortly in English first! I went to Helsinki last weekend to meet dear friends which was what I was expecting from the trip. I also had lunch with boyfriend in a restaurant called Singapore Hot Wok, we love the food there!

I'm always buying movies on sale.. this time I bought No Matter What, Confession of Pain and Dead or Alive. The first movie I was most excited about because I saw it once before and I loved it very much! The second movie I was happy to find, too, because I love both Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro...^^ I'm an action freak so DoA doesn't sound bad at all either.

Viikonlopusta sen verran, että Helsingissä käytiin ja tavattiin kolmikkoa EmSoRi, ja sitä olin odottanutkin innolla! Odotukset siis täyttyivät. Käytiin myös syömässä Singapore Hot Wok -nimisessä paikassa. Tykätään poikaystävän kanssa kumpikin niiden ruuasta!

Kuten arvata saattaa, vainusin taas alennuskorista leffoja, ja olinkin ikionnellinen kahdesta niistä! Ensimmäisenä löysin Kohti suurta unelmaa -elokuvan, joka on ruotsalaisen Oscar Peterssonin ohjaama Kiinassa kiinalaistiimin kanssa tehty draamaelokuva nuoren naisen unelmasta tulla laulajaksi. Olen kerran lainannut leffan kirjastosta ja rakastuin siihen heti.

Kolmas (kolme leffaa kympillä) ostamani elokuva oli Dead or Alive, joka on japanilaisen kulttiohjaajan Takashi Miiken ohjaama hyvin hyvin HYVIN väkivaltaiseksi mainittu elokuva. Etu- ja takakansi ovat täynnä koomisia varoituksia elokuvan visuaalisuuden vahvasta tasosta. Kuulostaa siis vähintään mielenkiintoiselta.

Huomaan hamstraavani nykyään paljon aasialaisia elokuvia, mutta olen todennut sen aiheutuvan pitkälti siitäkin, että mulla alkaa jo olla amerikkalaiset sun muut elokuvat, jotka haluankin, ja joita löytyy. Listalla on tietysti vielä sellaisia, joita en ole hyvään hintaan bongannut (Judge Dredd).

Kävin työkkärissä maanantaina ja työnhaku jatkuu. Sain kotitehtäviä ja täytin cv-netin lomakkeen ja luin työnhakuinfon. En edes tiennyt, että mulla on oikeus jopa muuttoavustukseen, jos saan töitä muualta. Kuin siistii. Suomen valtio pitää kansalaisista hyvää huolta loppujen lopuksi.

Rocky -(leffa)maratoni

Tänään on Tapaninpäivä, joka on englanniksi Boxing Day. Nimitys viitannee laatikoihin, mutta boxing tarkoittaa myös nyrkkeilyä, ja siitä kehitin viime vuonna idean nykyiseen traditiooni katsoa eräs leffasaaga leffa päivässä -tyyppisenä maratonina. Suurin elokuvasankarini on nyrkkeilijä Rocky Balboa. Leffasarjan viimeisen osan katson 31. päivä, joka sattuu olemaan Sylvesterin nimipäivä. Tiedättehän te näyttelijän Sylvester Stallone, eikö? Jos et tiedä, kenestä puhutaan, suorastaan vaadin sinua katsomaan nämä elokuvat.

It's Boxing Day and last year I started a tradition to watch one part of saga each day starting from today. I'm talking about the film saga with my biggest film hero ever, Rocky Balboa. The marathon would start with first Rocky movie on Boxing Day and conclude on 31st to the last film of the saga. That day happens to be the name day of Sylvester in Finland. You all do know Sylvester Stallone, right? If you don't, you MUST watch these movies.

Miksi?!

Rocky Balboa on  tuhansien ihmisten mielestä inspiroiva ja samaistuttava hahmo. Elokuvien myötä hahmoon kiintyy todella paljon, koska niissä seurataan hänen kasvuaan ihmisenä, miehenä, aviomiehenä, isänä. Rocky -elokuvissa on hyvät tarinat ja ne antavat ja opettavat katsojalle paljon. Joka kerta, kun olen epäillyt itseäni ja ollut mieli maassa, Rocky on auttanut minua muistamaan, että sinnikkyys palkitaan ja että elämässä on paljon, mistä olla onnellinen.

"Why should I watch the Rocky movies?!" Thousands of people in the world find Rocky Balboa a very inspiring character that you can relate to. You easily become attached to Rocky since there are many movies and you get to see him grow up as a person, as a man, as a husband, as a father. Rocky movies have great storylines, and they give and teach a lot to their viewer. Every time I have under estimated myself and felt bad Rocky has reminded me that staying tough will help me win and there's so much in life to be happy about.
